Meditation and breathing go hand in hand.

With meditation and breathing there are many different ways that they can be done, it is personal choice.
With breathing the main object is to use your diaphragm.
Your exhaled breath should be twice as long as your inhaled breath, or you can hold your breath in between inhaling and exhaling.

So what is meditation and where did it come from?
A lot of people think that meditation is an Asian thing, but it has been in Europe as long as it has been in Asia it was just known as Going within.
Meditation is the focus of the mind on one thing.

Meditation is a key factor to any form of Witchcraft, Wiccan and other disciplines.

Meditation may sound easy but it requires training, and if you are like me who always seems to have 100 and 1 things to do it is hard.

Keep in mind that it is important to learn meditation because it will not only help you with your Witchcraft but with your everyday life.

Benefits of meditation:
Stress relief
Greater ability to study
More productive
Calmer in a crisis situations
Stop the chatter in the conscious mind
Ability to focus on one situation or problem at a time
Spiritual growth
Self improvements

People who meditate develop sensitivity to other people, and to all forms of life as well as the Earth.
It also heightens the ability to connect with the life focuses around us.
They gain a sense of belonging.

Problems with Meditating:
Mind wondering
Mind saying that you are itchy
Mind saying that you are uncomfortable
Uncomfortable feelings
Thoughts about anything

The reason for this is because your mind is not use to this type of exercise. Your mind usually in undisciplined and runs wild but pay no attention to it.
The best way to deal with these problems (irritations) is to put them out of your mind one by one and return to concentrating on your breathing.

It will take practice to master.
Believe me I have not mastered it yet.
I have a very active mind, which drives me crazy when I try to meditate but I am getting there.

If you practice your breathing and meditation everyday you may be surprised at how much calmer and energized you feel.
